GRASSROOTS GRANT INSTRUCTIONS
Please read the following information carefully.
1. Send back signed contracts and revised budgets by January 6, 2012. If your
grant was not funded at the level you requested and you cannot implement your
project at the reduced grant amount, please let us know immediately.
2. You will need to follow payment procedures set up by the North Carolina Arts
Council, a state agency. The Cultural Arts Council of Wilkes will not process
any grants for payment until signed contract and revised budget, if applicable,
are received. After the CAC receives grant funds and sub grantee's contract and
budget are on file, the grant award will be paid.
3. If you do not spend all the grant funds, advise the Cultural Arts Council of
Wilkes and return the money within 30 days.
4. Thank your legislators. All grantees are required to write their legislators
to thank them for appropriating state funds for the Grassroots Arts Program and
to inform them of the project activities and how it will impact the community. A
copy of all letters to legislators must be attached to your Final Report form
sent to the CAC. Please invite your legislators to attend your project-related
activities.
5. The North Carolina Arts Council requires the following credit line be on all
printed materials and in all publicity and press releases, including
announcements. "This project/program received support from the North Carolina
Arts Council, a state agency, and the National Endowment for the Arts through
the Cultural Arts Council of Wilkes, Inc."
6. Keep the Cultural Arts Council of Wilkes informed about your project
activities and invite the staff and board members to project-related activities.
7. Advise the Cultural Arts Council of Wilkes of any project changes! If your
project changes and/or the project budget is affected you must call the CAC of
Wilkes Executive Director, Cathy H. McKenzie to discuss any revisions before
submitting a written request to the CAC of Wilkes.
8. Grantees are required to match grant amounts dollar-for-dollar. Matching
funds must come from public or private sources. One North Carolina Arts Council
grant may not be used to match another North Carolina Arts Council grant, nor
may the matching funds come from another State or Federal grant.
9. A Final Report Form is required within 30 days of project completion and you
will be required to keep accurate running statistics concerning your
project/programs. This includes, but is not limited to: accounting records on
how the funds were used (including source documentation on all transactions
relating to the grant), and Racial and cultural diversity statistics for those
served by your project or those attending your presentations. Please appoint
someone to collect these figures.
